What is a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser?
A Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraiser (or Fundraising Champion - the terms are use interchangeably throughout the Giving Challenge and by GiveGab) rallies around your nonprofit organization/cause to fundraise on your behalf.
- P2P Fundraisers create their own fundraising page for the Giving Challenge as a spin off of your main Giving Challenge profile.
- P2P Fundraisers will share that page within their network to expand the reach of your organization and bring in new donors.
- P2P Fundraisers are individuals who are passionate about the work your organizations does, and use their voice to make a difference!

- De-selecting this box will remove the Fundraise button from your 2022 Giving Challenge profile page.
.
Step 6: Follow up, support and thank your Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers
Treat your 2022 Giving Challenge Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers like major donors. Fundraising for your organization is a higher level of participation that warrants stewardship before, during and after they are a Giving Challenge Fundraiser for your organization. Consider the following:
- Communicate with your Fundraisers: Keep your fundraisers informed and feeling supported before, during and after the Giving Challenge. These communication templates will help get your team started as you outline your communication strategy with your P2P Fundraisers.
- Share the 2022 Giving Challenge Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser Toolkit: This toolkit provides great insight for potential Giving Challenge P2P Fundraisers to learn how to create their custom Giving Challenge fundraiser page, along with communication templates, fundraising strategies, and support articles and videos.
- Host a Zoom meeting or other type of kickoff call: Get all of your Giving Challenge Fundraisers on the same page with a kickoff event. Encourage Giving Challenge Fundraisers to build their page in the kick off gathering as they meet and share stories and tips with their fellow Fundraisers.
-
Foster storytelling and capture stories: Most Giving Challenge Fundraisers will have a special story or memory that makes their heart sing for your organization and the work you do. Motivate your Giving Challenge Fundraisers to share their stories by asking them questions like:
- What do you wish everyone knew about this organization/cause?
- What made you decide to make your first gift?
- Why do you enjoy giving to or volunteering for our organization?
- What is your favorite program or service our organization offers?
